Where it's Warm

by The Crooked East

/

about

"Where it's Warm" is the second single off of our debut EP of the same name.

The EP "Where it's Warm" tells the tale of a troubled young man who follows his aspiring-actress girlfriend West, only to find himself a rising singer/songwriter. But the higher he rises, the lower he sinks into a haze of depression and substance abuse, until a panic attack on stage forces him to seek help and change his life.

"Where it's Warm" was partially inspired by lead singer/songwriter, Jon LaPoma's, series of loosely-linked novels, and close readers may recognize some of the songs' lyrics from the series.

lyrics

Before you walk
To the road,
Turn around,
Take my coat,
How I know
Those roads can freeze.

Searchin’ a warm place
Everybody stays,
Women and men,
Children play,
You may ask, but they won’t say.

Now my old hands
And my cold legs
Are by the fire
Where they’ll remain,
You may ask, but they won’t say.

Oh, I’ve seen them
On the road,
But they won’t say where it’s warm.

I’ve seen them
On the road,
But they won’t say where it’s warm.

Before you walk
To the road,
Turn around,
Take my coat,
You may ask, but they won’t say.

You may ask, but I won’t say…
